Heart Health

OK...I thought I was doing the right thing.  I'm turning the big 5-0 in October and I thought it would be a GREAT idea to get a complete, and I mean complete, physical.  So, I endured the girlie exam, the blood work, and surprisingly, an EKG.  My doctor does that routinely with all people over the age of 21.  Now just imagine my shock when my EKG came out ABNORMAL!!!  Now, I'm an extremely healthy person, good cholesterol, blood pressure, vitamin levels, calcium levels, negative girlie exam...but my ticker has a glitch?

Off I went to take my stress test today.  After almost 24 hours of fasting and 4 hours of staying completely still, running, staying completely still again, probing, pricking (let's talk about STRESS!!!!!!!!), I'm home and able to journal.  Here's the last page in my 'Orange Journal'.  Time for a nap.

Awwwww . . . . I just LOVE Peggy's comment! Sandee, if there IS something abnormal, better they should find it now. And good for YOU for being a brave girl going through complete physicals (girlie and normal). Hugs, Terri xoxox

PS Will definitely send a few prayers your way so everything is OK. :)

Well, as a heart nurse- both open heart and post-stent etc- I can tell you that many stress tests are falsely abnormal. The cardiac catheterization is the golden standard for checking arteries. The other thing, if the stress had been really abnormal, you'd already be sitting in the hospital. So, here's crossing fingers- XXXX_ that is was a false positive. I had a very abnormal EKG after having a very fast heartbeat (post-virus). Saw the cardiologists, it was nothin'. Best wishes and relax for now!!

Hang on to Lee's comment Sandee! She's the expert here, and I find her comment very comforting. I hope you relax a bit this week, just keep on creating and spit it all out in colours! (that usually helps!) I keep my fingers crossed for you!
