Q and R

Well, here's a challenge for ya! Make pages that go together for the letters Q and R when Keys to the Universe is the theme!!! I swear, I picked my brain, my husband's brain, my friends' brains ( and this was not easy!) After a month, I was finally able to sit down and work this out. The pages are for Heather H. in my Alphabetica group. In sure hope she appreciates them!!!

Halloween Ornaments

I've been a member of Creative Chix for a long time, but I never participated in anything until now. I decided to do the Halloween Ornament Exchange. It's 3 for 3. I had so much fun making these. It's a terribly rainy and gloomy day today, and the kids were at school and then either at work or at friends. I had the glory of a studio day, loud music and all!!!!!

They morphed!!!

These arches are for my sweet peggy. Her theme for this Gothic Arch tip-in is Walk on The Wild Side. I started out with a mermaid theme using the flat version of the doll I made for her (a few entries earlier). I painted the paper, made white bubbles, inked and re-inked. And then...it was as if my Muse and I started drinking and she had me go in a completely different direction when I was most vulnerable. Naughty Muse!!! So, the pages are not so wild; I'm pretty sure peggy will understand!

Barb's little babies....

The theme for Barb's Mixed Media Madams tip-in book is Vintage Children. She wanted colors of the rainbow as her background. The pages are front to back, so I was able to make them completely different. The images are from Lisa's Altered Art

"When Logic and Proportion...

have fallen sloppy dead...and the white knight's talking backwards...and the Red Queen's "off with her head!" Remember what the dormouse said...."Feed you head...Feed your head....

FEED YOUR HEAD!!!!!"

How many times did I see Grace Slick sing that live when I was growing up; had to be at least 7 or 8 times.

These pages are for Judy whose theme is White Rabbit.

Queen of "Sol"

You know how you can't get enough of something sometimes??? Well, I'm that way with these dolls! Meet "Queen of Sol". I love this color combo and have a lot of fabric in these shades. Sol was also made with ribbon scraps and her crown is a LARGE sequin that I had purchased a bazillion of many years ago!

If you click on her, you can see the details.

Meet "Boo"

This is BOO. She is my very first art doll. I always drool when I see everyone's art doll and I knew I had it in me to make my own since I'm a quilter! But unfortunately, I'm one of those people who needs either a kick in the butt or step by step directions in order to attempt something new. I think it's because I still don't see myself as an artist; bizarre, isn't it?

Paper Whimsy Witch Arches

I had so much fun making these arches. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so when this swap opened, I had to join. This swap is 3 for 3. My girlfriend, Eliza, who has a wonderful sense of humor. She loves mixed media (but doesn't do art) and she found the piece below and bought it for me. In fact, she loved it so much that she bought the same one for herself! I couldn't stop laughing when I opened it. I just love it and wanted to share it with you. BTW...the artist's name is Erin Smith.

I've become a stuffed mermaid!

Heh, heh...I think I look pretty darn cute!

This is for peggy. She's going to the Paper Whimsy Jammer Weekend, and since I can't go, she's taking me along as a stuffed whimsy. Now, the directions said we needed to be a flat whimsy, but if you know me personally and know the size of my...ahem... "estates"... then you know that that would be impossible. Plus, this was way too much fun to make!

Arches for Patricia

There are easy journal pages to make. You know, the ones that just POP out of your head! And then there are the really hard ones to make. These arches are for Patricia in my Altered Art Swap group. Her theme is favorite book. My favorite book of all time is The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. I must have read it three times already, and each time, I get more out of it. It's about Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah. It's not religious in nature at all. It's the story of that part of history told through HER eyes. Now mind you, Dinah is mentioned only ONCE in Genesis...do you think that maybe, just maybe, the old testament was written by GUYS???????

I cut my hair off...

Actually, Amy cut my hair off. With a straight razor...and a glass of wine! I go through phases. My long hair makes me happy, but hot. Short hair is so easy...

I tried to hide my wrinkles in the photo...I don't think I was too successful. Heck, I'll be 47 in five weeks! I guess a few wrinkles are OK. At least I don't have to color my hair!!!
I just noticed the toilet in the background!!! ROFLMAO!!! Man, oh man...aren't I a great photographer!!!

Here's Petee!

This is Petee (Petey); the new love of my life! Petee is a 3 year old beagle mutt (or butt) that we adopted from a local dog rescue. He is the sweetest, most GENTLE dog. He was at the rescue for 6 months! Apparently, no one wanted him because he wasn't house broken. Well, we took care of that problem in 1 day!!! I wish we could do something about his farts though! They are really bad. We have him on Nutro which is an organic, none by-product dog food. Hopefully this will help!!!

Halloween Charms

I do believe that I am THE WORST charm maker in the universe. I'm just not good with wire. I signed up for a silver wire jewelry class through my home town park and rec. They NEVER had to cancel a class before, but they didn't get enough people for this one. Just my luck!!! I'm TRYING to get better...it's just going to take a little time!
These charms are for a Halloween Charm swap that my friend Megan is hosting. They are made from an old Bingo card, purple paint, glitter glue, glaze pen, stars, and paper BOOS! The beads are from a bracelet that I bought at the dollar store. Geez...I hope people like them when they get them...
