Sanity Giveaway!

I wanted to thank everyone who has visited my blog over the past few years, and especially the 100 followers who give me the motivation to continue to post.  So here it is, my very first Sanity Giveaway.
In order to be eligible, you must leave a comment (of course, how else would I know that you're interested...) and an email address so I can contact you in case you win.  I'd be more than pleased if you posted it to your blog.  All traffic is good traffic!  I'll pick the winner with a random number picker on the computer  on May 5th.  That's one week from tomorrow.

The piece is 5 x 7 inches.  The base is Caran D'ache crayons.  All papers are hand painted.  It is sprayed with a sealant but I still wouldn't get it wet.

Good luck!  I sure hope you win!!!

Published in Cloth, Paper, Scissors!

I'm published in the new May/June Cloth, Paper, Scissors.  I made a piece for the postcard challenge.  Not only was it published, it made it onto the first page of the article that introduces the challenge!  What a sweet treat!
Mine is the bottom postcard, "i love art".  Trudi Sissons is the one on top.  Wahoo!

Playing with Lettering

This is in my teeny tiny doodle journal.  Just playing around.....
My lettering can be so bad when I write in my journals.  I'm trying to spread my wings a bit!

Wow!  Who would have thunk it!  I realize that there are people with hundreds of followers.  But for me, 97  is A LOT!  I decided that when I reach 100 followers, I'm going to have my very first giveaway.  Let's see how long this will take...

Art-Is-You Retreats

I'm going to Art-Is-You in Petaluma in September and there will be a raffle of a book made by anybody who wants to participate in making a piece for it.  The money ALWAYS goes to a selected charity.  The theme is Weird, Wild, or Wonderful Landscapes.  The pieces must be 4 x 6 and can be of any medium.. I chose to use my Caran D'ache Crayons and hand painted papers.  This is what I came up with:
If I make 5 more, I'll get five back from different artists...yes, a swap.  I can never resist a good one, especially for a good cause.

Go check out the Art-Is-You site.  I've gone for the past three years on the east coast.  Now that I'm living on the west coast, I'm going to Petaluma!

I am Doodle Challenged

Let's face it.  I just can't doodle.  They start out OK but result in just a mess of lines that look like a 3 year old did it.  So, after perusing Pinterest and looking at other people's journals, I decided to teach myself how to doodle.  I received a lovely little journal from peggy for my birthday and I'm using it as my Doodle practice book.  Here's my first page...
...and a close up of my attempt...

Used my cheapie water colors, white gel pen and my sharpie.  Doodle 101, here I come!

April Mail Art

What a GLORIOUS day.  The sun was shining; not a cloud in the sky.  Took my daily walk while singing to my iPod.  I think people thought I was 'special'.  Came home and made my April Mail Art.  Needed to have flowers and numbers.  I really enjoyed making this.

I love Mail Art...anyone want to swap?
